I won a creative writing award! The English department is giving me $500 for being some kind of exemplary Creative Writing/English student?!

Apparently there's a donor, and they ask the English department to throw out some names, then they vote on the names, and choose a recipient. This term, that recipient was me!

What a total surprise. I had no idea. One of my old instructors caught me in the hallway on Tuesday and dropped the hint, and then I got the letter yesterday. Nice one. I wonder if they've actually read any of my writing...

Whatever the case, my English department instructors respect me. That's good to know!
